Better Together: My New Summer Separates Outfit

One of the fun things about my recent weight loss aside from getting thinner and being healthy (I’ve lost 17 lbs and 16.5 inches in the past 3 months, Woo Hoo!), is that I get to reward myself with some new clothes…just in time for summer.

The hot color trend for this season is emerald.  Now, this color isn’t just “green” – it is a lush and vibrant hue that promotes balance and harmony, and you can find it everywhere from clothes to shoes to handbags.  It also just so happens with my skin tone and hair color, emerald looks fantastic on me, but how would I translate it to my wardrobe?  Solid head-to-toe color is not a good look for me, I’d look like Slimer from “Ghostbusters.”  I chose to go with separates and found a cute navy blue and emerald striped jersey knit pencil skirt pairing it with a cotton emerald-colored three-quarter length sleeve top.

Neither one of these items broke the bank for me, but I do want to make sure that my on-trend outfit will last the summer.   I’ll be using Procter & Gamble’s “Better Together” triple threat of Tide®, Downy® and Bounce® to not just keep my new outfit — but my entire family’s summer fashions — feeling soft, looking bright and  look newer longer.

I have to say that the Tide Pods are my new favorite laundry item.  They are single use laundry pod that has three chambers – one has detergent, another stain remover and the last has color brightener so they clean, fight stains, and brighten all in one easy step.  The beauty of these pods is that don’t have to pre-treat stains and there is no more pouring meaning no more spills and sticky washing machine tops!  All you have to do is toss one pod into your washer and let it do all the work (and yes, they are specifically formulated to be used in HE washers!).

I got my Tide Pods, Ultra Downy liquid and Bounce dryer sheets pictured here from my local Target and all for less than $20!

If you’re like me, you’re probably asking why do you need both Downy and Bounce, aren’t they both different versions of the same thing?  What I’ve learned is that one would work fine, but using them together, one in the washer and the other in the dryer unleashes their wonder twin powers!  Together they make clothes  feel much softer and not as stiff as just using laundry soap alone.   Also, using both types of fabric softeners cuts down on drying time and reduces static cling!

So now that I have my fab new outfit for summer, all I need it a great place (aside from work) to wear it to, like a BBQ or date night with The Hubs….um-mm, now there’s an idea!

Now it’s your turn to share.  What is your favorite outfit for summer this year?

For Full Disclosure:  This is sponsored post from DailyBuzz Moms Tastemaker program and P&G. With Tide®, Downy® and Bounce®, you can keep your summer fashions looking new up to 50% longer vs. leading value detergent alone. Text CLEAN to TARGET (827438) for mobile coupons.
