Wordless Wednesday – A Little Girl Can Dream, Can’t She?

While on vacation at the Jersey Shore last week, we had our own sort of afternoon “tea time” out on our condo’s balcony – except for this mama it was a glass of boxed wine (I love Bota Box!), while my daughter drank her boxed apple juice….

Only 18 more years sweetie and we can clink glasses together.  Until then a little girl can dream, can’t she?

Wordless Wednesday: A Party To Dye For

This weekend we celebrated my son’s 5th birthday with his friends and it was a real blast from the past!

No offense to places such as Chuck E Cheese, Bounce U or Screaming Parties, but I always like to something a little different from the parties we go to.  We held his party at a great place I found called Tie Dye Town.

Wordless Wednesday – My Two Stars….

The kidlets had some fun celebrating my birthday this week.  They got real creative and imaginative with the party hats.  Who knew that I would have two little stars sent to me on my special day:

Wordless Wednesday – The Snack of Super Heroes

While I was getting my 2 1/2-year-old daughter dressed for nursery school yesterday morning, she announced that she was a Super Hero. She then proceeded to march down the hall to the bathroom stark naked except for a pair of pink sunglasses and sat on the toilet.  After bursting out in laughter, I managed to ask her what kind of Super Hero she was.  Without skipping a beat, she told me Rockstar Super Hero.  Clearly, the teenage years with her are going to be interesting!

I Love A Parade

Memorial Day Weekend was filled with family, friends, BBQs and of course parades.  In fact, my kidlets love parades so much that we went to two of them!  We forgot to bring the camera for our own town parade, but here’s parade #2 of the weekend in a nearby town:

My lil’ patriot, waving her American flag so proudly waiting for the parade to start. Continue reading

Wordless Wednesday – Enjoying Our Cupcakes

I stopped by a local cupcake bakery that is getting rave reviews, The Sweet Shop.  Melina’s cupcakes have been featured on Bravo’s series “Real Housewives of New Jersey” and “Bethenny, Getting Married?”  After the cupcake taste-test we held here in our home, I totally can see why these cupcakes are in such hot demand. They were moist, flavorful and most of all fun! Don’t take my word for it, look at my kidlet’s reactions:

Wordless Wednesday – Making A Grand Exit?

We had lots of fun on our trip this past week to Houston, TX to visit with family and go to the Houston Rodeo & Livestock Show (check back for that post – we had so much fun!). As you can see, the kidlets made fast friends with Aunt B & Uncle T’s four doggies…with my son learning a new way to leave the house….

Either my son is taking an alternative exit to the backyard or re-enacting a scene from “Close Encounters of the Third Kind?

Check out my fashionsita of a daughter, looking stylish in her Hello Kitty fedora and son playing with two of their new pals Bikki (the Basset Hound) and Lil’ Bit

Wordless Wednesday – A ‘Hands On’ Museum Experience

This Wordless Wednesday features our family outing this past weekend to a local children’s museum, Imagine That!!! located in Florham Park, New Jersey.  These are great places where kids can run around, experience and actually touch different things.  At this museum there were so many great interactive exhibits including an art/paint area, music, dance, puppets, archeology, TV studio, vet office and post office, among others.  It is sort of like a HUGE indoor playground and was a great way for the kidlets to burn off some energy. They are so much fun, so much so that I get right on in there with my kidlets and play with them, making me a kid again, at least for a little while.

Both of my kidlets LOVE music and enjoy playing with instruments.  The two of them were fighting over who would bang the drum first, as you can see, my daughter won!

I told my son this is the closest he’ll ever come to riding a motorcycle in my lifetime!

My son is one of my knights in shining armor (the Hubs is the other!)

My daughter kept getting into this brick-red, vintage WV Beetle, here she’s telling mom not to be a backseat driver!

Wordless Wednesday – Circling The Drain….

My kidlets are the life of the party from these pictures during a recent lunch outing at Cheeseburger In Paradise.  However, the Hubs & I call this “circling the drain” before naptime…..At least they weren’t noisy, but they sure were entertaining.

My son and his rendition of “Singing In the Rain

I guess my daughter was afraid of the paparazzi or just imitating Greta Garbo                 and “wants to be alone
