Celebrate Halloween at The NY Aquarium’s “Ascarium: A Pirate Adventure”

Last week I wrote about “Boo at the Zoo” and the Halloween-themed family activities that you can enjoy there, but the Bronx Zoo isn’t the only place where families can enjoy some scary fun!  Only running this weekend and next,  The New York Aquarium will celebrate Halloween with their swashbuckling “Ascarium” celebration.

The New York Aquarium’s “Ascarium: A Pirate Adventure” is a range of pirate and nautical themed, kid friendly experiences that also highlight the importance of wildlife and conservation.

You and your little ones can journey through the sunken S.S. Garbagio in Haunted Seafari Adventure where they will meet Captain Looter and his crew.  Other activities throughout the day include spooky pirate tales, sea shanty musical performances, gypsy dancers, arts and crafts and even try your hand at pirate games of skill.  There’s also a special Halloween 4-D feature, The Curse of Skull Rock.

There’s also trick-or-treating stations throughout the aquarium, so kids are encouraged to dress up in their costumes.  An added bonus is that kids who come to The New York Aquarium’s “Ascarium: A Pirate Adventure” in costume get free admission with the purchase of one full-priced adult general admission ticket.

Now it’s your turn to share.  What are your kids going to be for Halloween this year?

For full disclosure: The Harried Mom is participating in a sponsored ambassador program from the Bronx Zoo/NY Aquarium.  As part of this program, I have received a complimentary premium family membership and merchandise for specific posts related to Bronx Zoo/NY Aquarium programming.  As always, all the opinions expressed in these posts and on my blog are my very own.
