I’ve never been much of a jewelry person, but I’ve always loved charm bracelets.
When I was a little girl I used to sneak into my mom’s black lacquered jewelry box and try out all her different gold charm bracelets. She must have a least half a dozen of them, and each one represented a different milestone in her life. The best ones were the bracelets with charms from her various trips and vacations. My favorite one of all was the one from Italy which had tiny replicas of the Vatican, the Coliseum, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, a gondola for Venice and the Fountain of Trevi.
Though I have several charm bracelets, the one that I wear most often is one my husband gave me a when our son was born. Yes ladies, it was a push gift in a little blue box! The first charm was a little duck and our son’s name and birthdate were engraved on it. It’s been five years since I got that bracelet and I’ve added a number of other charms to it – for my daughter’s birth, our 5th wedding anniversary and even one for our dog Bailey. I always look forward to adding another charm to my wrist and the story that goes along with it.
My little girl has picked up her momma’s penchant for charm bracelets. She loves to go into my dresser drawer and wear my “brace-a-lets” as she so cutely calls them. Now she has her very own adorable charm bracelet from a fun company NJ-based (yea for the home state!) company called CHARM IT!
My daughter’s CHARM IT! bracelet came in a cute rainbow-striped keepsake box, topped with a pink ribbon handle. Inside was a 7.5 inch long, fully adjustable silver toned bracelet. The bracelet is easily adjustable. All you have to do is hook it into any of the chain holes and it can fit just about any size wrist out there! She got three charms to start off her bracelet – Koala, Pink Elephant and Pretty Puppy. I was impressed at the detail of the charms I picked out for her. They are vibrantly colored and some, like the Koala, feature a bit of bling to them.
There are so many charms to choose from ranging from Hello Kitty to Disney characters, from fairy tale princesses to flowers, from sports to animals, there is a charm for everyone. They are reasonably priced and are great gifts for any special occasion.
My daughter loves her CHARM IT! bracelet. She doesn’t ever want to take it off! I’m sure she’ll be getting additions to her bracelet for years to come. Her birthday is coming up in October, I’m sure there will be a Hello Kitty charm in her future!
CHARM IT! is currently running a fun and easy photo contest. Now through August 22, all you have to do is upload a photo of your little girl with her favorite animal or pet to the CHARM IT! Facebook page and they’re going to pick 1000 winners to receive a free CHARM IT! charm.
Here’s the photo I’ve entered:
Now it’s your turn to share. What is your favorite piece of jewelery?
For full disclosure: I received a complimentary CHARM IT! bracelet and three charms of my choice as part of attending The Big Toy Book’s 3rd annual Sweet Suite event in NYC. I was not asked to review or compensated for this post. As always, all the opinions expressed in posts and on this blog are all my very own.
