Get In the Game With Mohawk Flooring #ShareMoLove Puppy Bowl X

We’re counting down the minutes to the Big Game, but the matchup between the top two football teams isn’t the only major happening on TV today! I’m talking about that other famous “tail”gate event, the Puppy Bowl! This year marks its 10th anniversary and I was lucky to be invited earlier this week by Mohawk Flooring to attend the Puppy Bowl Experience in Times Square NYC.  They had me at “Woof,” I mean who doesn’t love seeing and playing with puppies!

THM_SmartStrand_PuppyBowlYou might be asking, as I did when I was first got the invite, what does a flooring company have to do with the Puppy Bowl? Well Mohawk is the official carpet sponsor of Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl X and they are providing their new revolutionary SmartStrand Carpet for the football field the puppies are playing on.

THM_SmartStrand_PuppyBowl4Touring the experience I got the chance to relive past Puppy Bowls walking through the Hall of Fame, sat in the stands and watched live puppy action on a replica field, took part in some doggie-themed games and fun activities and even got a doggie smooch over at the Puppy Kiss Cam.

THM_SmartStrand_PuppyBowl2I even got to #ShareMoLove, spending some time with Mohawk’s mascot who was also acting as their canine correspondent during all the Big Game festivities happening this past week. I know I shouldn’t say anything, but Mo gave me inside scoop on who will win. He told me paws down, it’ll be the guys in good old blue and orange!

THM_SmartStrand_PuppuyBowl3Mo also told me that he’s been the doghouse more than once on account of all the messes he’s made (sounds like he’d get along famously with my cockapoo, Bailey!). Luckily Mohawk’s SmartStrand Carpet tackles life’s messiest moments whether its stains caused by pets, children, adults, food or dirt.

See SmartStrand is the only carpet with engineered stain protection at the molecular level. In plain English that means that the stain and soil protection is actually built into the carpet fibers themselves, so it will never wash or wear off. Plus, since there is no added topical stain resistance, every strand of carpet is soft to touch and play on.

Sound too good to be true? I thought exactly the same thing. The folks at Mohawk said they guarantee it and sent me home with some SmartStrand Carpet samples to try.

For my test I used some red wine (complete with wine glass for effect!) and on the other, some freshly used coffee grounds. I let each stain set for at least 10 minutes before attempting to clean. To clean my samples I only used mild soap and warm water.

As you see, the results are pretty impressive:

THM_SmartStrand_PuppyBowl1If you’re thinking about getting new flooring, you should check Mohawk SmartStrand Carpet out, it could score a touchdown in your home.

You can also help #ShareMoLove by heading over to Mohawk Flooring Unleashed Carpet Challenge page on Facebook. For every new “Like” Mohawk will donate $2 to a pet adoption charity to help Mo’s animal pals find permanent homes.  Also, if you take a picture of your own furry best friend, make sure you upload it to Instagram using the hashtag #ShareMoLove and you could win a $100 giftcard and a SmartStrand Dog Bone rug.

Now it’s your turn to share.  Do you have a pet? If yes, tell me what kind and their name.  If no, what kind of pet would you want to have?

I need this for my house. I have a Shih-Tzu who loves making messes, with this I won’t have to worry too much anymore. I’ve seen commercials for the puppy bowl but thought it was just for fun. Good to know it’s actually real. :)

  8. Wow I’ll totally try this. We are planning to replace our carpet throughout our house eventually. It wasn’t in the best shape when we moved in. One of our rooms has a huge red stain right in the middle of the floor. The carpets were professionally cleaned and the stain didn’t budge.
