Here’s The Rub, Spa Week Is Coming!

One of my all-time guilty pleasures, one that I don’t get to indulge in too often, is getting a massage.  In between working full-time outside of the home, keeping two kidlets under the age of five entertained, taking care of the Hubs, errands, chores and dinner,  it’s nice to take some time occasionally and pamper myself!  Getting a massage is that one sure thing that can get me relaxed and to my “happy place.”  In addition to easing muscle tension, massages can help enhance circulation and joint mobilization, something I appreciate and need after sitting behind my desk at work all day.

I’ve gotten massages in a number of places — at my local nail salon, at the gym and most memorably, while on my honeymoon at a tropical resort.  However, my favorite place to get one has to be the  spa.   I guess it’s because spas are devoted to overall well-being and help renew mind, body and spirit.  I always walk out feeling relaxed, Zen and like a totally new woman.

Sadly, if I went to the spa to get the full-on massage treatment as much as this body wishes it could, I’d be one very broke mama and my two young kidlets wouldn’t have a college fund.

I heard about Spa Week, a national event that opens up the spa experience to everyone by making treatments both accessible and affordable.  Treatments that can normally range anywhere from $100 to well up to over $500 are being offered for just $50.  What a great way to indulge in a little bit of mommy pampering, especially since it won’t break the bank!

From Monday, April 16 – Sunday, April 22 hundreds of spas, yoga and Pilates studios, fitness centers and other wellness centers across the United States will offer up to three signature treatments across the country at this major discount, so it’s just not massages.  You could get a facial, mani/pedi, detoxifying treatments, body wraps or scrubs, cellulite treatments or even laser hair removal.  It all depends on the spa you choose.

Spa Week is already taking reservations.  If you log onto www.SpaWeek.com and register, you can see a list of all the facilities by state participating and what services they are offering for $50.   Keep in mind that availability and time is limited – it’s only one week and it depends how many appointments the individual spa, studio or center can handle!

I’m getting ready to book my own $50 treatment.  I’m thinking maybe I’ll get a hot stone massage, or maybe a Swedish one or what about Shiatsu?  The possibilities are endless, but I could sure use a little affordable pampering!

Now it’s your turn to share.  What’s your favorite pampering or spa treatment?

Oh gosh, I love a good massage, wish I could have one every week! But as I’ve gotten a bit older I also enjoy an awesome facial. Wish I could have BOTH every week. How awesome would THAT be? ;)

    Hello,
I am one of the participating Hair Salons & also a Mom, so I know what you mean!
It’s not easy taking care of your self when you have little ones to take care of, but I will be taking advantage of Spa Week myself to get pampered, what a great opportunity ! :)
