I’m so excited to share today’s post with you!
Over the past year I’ve had some wonderful opportunities to check out great toys, books, electronics, gifts, clothes, events and activities at various blogging events which I’ve shared with you here at The Harried Mom. At these events I would always run into my friend Lisa Pisano from Mom A La Mode.
I love hanging out with Lisa. Why? Because we’re two like-minded blogging moms who love to talk about products and our experiences. We figured if we liked talking about these things together, you might too and we’ve created a new series that we hope you’ll find both informative and entertaining.
So I’m proud to introduce you to “Show and Tell With Deb & Lisa” our new monthly vlog series that gives you the scoop on the latest in toys, trends and fun from two bloggers with an all access-pass to what’s hot and happening!
For our inaugural episode we’re getting into the holiday spirit with a holiday gift guide for kids. Our picks are focused on items for both boys and girls and ranging in age from pre-K thru elementary school.
Here is more info on my picks, in order of appearance:
CHARM IT! – A line of charm bracelets and charms that are cute, adorable, and girly. There are a variety of bracelets, necklaces and many highly detailed charms to collect. There is a charm for every interest – sports, fashion, Disney, animals, dance and even Hello Kitty! These bracelets are cute enough for elementary school girls to wear, yet sophisticated enough for tweens to wear too! Makes a great stocking-stuffer gift. Charms are $5 a piece and bracelets/necklaces range from $7-16. Charms and bracelets are available online at shopcharm-it.com and in store at Gap Kids.
Merrymakers – An adorable collection of huggable dolls based on favorite and popular children’s book characters. Each doll is thoughtfully designed and meticulously crafted. Dolls include Pout Pout Fish, The Fly Guy, Pete the Cat, Fancy Nancy and Froggy, among others. These dolls are perfect to pair up with the books they are inspired by for a gift that’s fun and educational. Dolls are at $15 and up and you can buy them at merrymakersinc.com.
Funko Pop! – Pop culture’s best and most famous faces are featured as great Funko POP! Vinyl Figures and bobble heads. Each of these collectibles has exaggerated features inspired by your favorite characters from Disney, Star Wars, Guardians of the Galaxy, Adventure Time, How to Train Your Dragon and My Little Pony, among others. Some also appeal to adults with figures from Breaking Bad, Big Bang Theory, X-Files and The Matrix. Dolls start at $9.99 and can be found at Target, Barnes & Noble’s, local toy & comic book shops and online at funko.com.
InnoTab Max – A multi-media learning tablet for children aged 3-9 that combines educational games and creative activities. It’s built to grow along with your child. It combines VTech’s expert-supported library of cartridges, software and apps with carefully selected educational Android apps for fun and educational learning. Features large color touch screen, 3 free apps and a detachable cover/stand. Retails for around $109.00 and is available at Toys R Us, Target and Walmart and online at vtechkids.com. You can also check out my full review of this tablet here.
Skylanders Trap Team – The Skylander adventure continues with Trap Team, featuring a new challenge & new set of villains to capture. Skylanders Trap Team is backwards compatible, meaning figures from Giants or Swap Force will work with this new system. It’s available for Xbox, Sony PlayStation & Nintendo Wii. Starter packs retail for $69.99+ and are available at Toys R Us, GameStop, Target, Best Buy, Walmart and Amazon. Check them out at skylanders.com

Not bad for our first vlog, if I do say so myself. The next episode of “Show and Tell with Deb & Lisa” will feature gifts for grownups – be on the lookout for it early next month.
A few words of special thanks go to:
The Hubs who wore many hats for this shoot. He was producer, line producer, cameraman, best boy, sound engineer and music director. He did a fantastic job in putting this whole thing together for us. During the shoot he jokingly called himself Erich von Stroheim and if you know your movie history, does that mean I’m Norma Desmond?
Our good friend Rita P. Cheng who designed our logo. Rita is an incredibly creative artisan and a truly kind-hearted human being. When we told her our idea she jumped right on board to create a logo to help support our new endeavor. You can check out her work at www.ritapcheng.com
Now it’s your turn to share. What’s the “must-have” gift on your child’s holiday list this season?
