Growing up I used to love Sunday mornings in my house. My father would get up early, go to our local bakery and come back home with some delicious crumb cake and the Sunday newspapers. I would take the biggest piece of crumb cake there was, get a tall glass of milk and run off to read the Sunday Comics or what we affectionately called the “Funny Section.”
I loved reading comic strips and on Sundays they were twice as long and in color! It was like reading a funny letter from a friend – following the crazy adventures and outlandish situations the characters always seemed to get themselves into. A few of my favorites were Blondie, Peanuts, Family Circus, Hagar the Horrible, Bloom County, Fox Trot and Calvin and Hobbes.
