The Wall of Sound – HTC One Harman Kardon Smartphone & Sprint Sound Sessions Review #SprintMusic #SprintMom

“I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Sprint Sound Sessions. I received a sample of the HTC One to facilitate this review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.” As always, all opinions expressed on this site are my very own.  Please be sure to do your own research, as your opinion may differ.

Have you ever heard the saying “music hath charms to soothe a savage beast?”  Not that I am comparing myself to a savage beast, but music certainly plays a role in setting both my temperament and emotions.

When I’m working in my office, I often listen to music played off my smartphone. I mostly listen to 80s music.  Lots of songs from that era feature fast tempos that help me get into a groove when I’m writing.  When I’m in the kitchen, I’ll play hits from the 70s including tunes. The sing-songy nature of that music gets me moving melodically as I make dinner.   If I want to chill, I listen to classic crooners from the 1950s.

However, just as important as the music selection is to setting my mood, so is the sound quality. Quite honestly, the sound quality from most smartphones is pretty horrible — whether it be for music, video or just plain talking on the phone. It always sound tinny and the music is muddy, never quite picking up bass or drum beats.

THM_HTCHarmanKardon_2That was until I got to personally experience the HTC One® Harman Kardon® edition – a Sprint exclusive smartphone with a premium sound experience. I first checked it out at a Sprint Sound Sessions event that was recently held in NYC.

Finding Pixie Dust & Getting To Go “On The Road” With Disney Social Media Moms

I’ve got a confession to make. I never stepped foot inside a Disney Park until I was an adult. My father wasn’t much into amusement parks, so growing up it was never a destination my family ever considered for vacation. It wasn’t until I was 22 years old and on a business trip to Southern California. With some down time, a colleague suggested we head on over to Anaheim and check out Disneyland.

THM_DisneyOTRPhilly_2aI was mesmerized and fell in love the moment I entered!

Walking thru Sleeping Beauty’s castle, wearing my very first pair of Mouse Ears, riding on the Railroad, getting drenched on Splash Mountain and having my picture taken with Winnie the Pooh was like taking all those Disney movies and TV shows I watched growing up come to life right in front of my eyes!

It took me another two more years before I made it to all the parks in Orlando, but since then I’ve been back many times.  My most recent trip was last spring when The Hubs and I took the kids on their first visit to Walt Disney World Resorts.

Seeing Disney through their first time eyes was amazing. It’s something I’ll always treasure as a parent and as a Disney fanatic. It truly is the “happiest place on Earth!”Continue reading ⇒

Join Purex in Supporting Make-A-Wish & Laundry Giveaway

I’m a huge supporter of companies who team up their products with worthwhile causes for a greater good.  Throughout the month of February Purex® Laundry Detergent is teaming up with the Make-A-Wish foundation, one of the world’s leading children’s charities for their “Bright Washes, Bright Wishes” promotion.

MAW-purex-insiders-290x180_RI’m sure you’ve heard of Make-A-Wish before, but they help to grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.   The kids helped by this organization say that granted wishes give them a renewed strength to continue in the brave fight against their illnesses while their parents say these experiences help strengthen their entire family.

Keep Calm And Get Blogging!

Happy New Year!  It was great to unplug the past two weeks to enjoy the holiday with friends and family.  As much as I love being connected, it was relaxing not to be a slave to social media or a post schedule.  It was a time for me to re-charge and get ready for a brand new year of blogging excitement!

But getting started again is hard!

I sat down at the computer in my home office no less than a dozen this past weekend with the intention of getting my editorial calendar in order and even getting a jump-start on some blog posts for this week.  Somehow though, staring at an empty year calendar and even worse, a blank Word document, was daunting.  The post ideas and words just wouldn’t (or couldn’t?) come to me.  Had I taken too long of a writing/blogging/social media break?

Very Inspiring Blogger Award

I want to thank Ellen at Bad Word Mama for nominating The Harried Mom for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award.   I had no idea awards like this existed – an award that is not based on votes and a popularity contest (I’ve never won one of those in my life!).  I’m honored by this recognition because; to me at least, it means that someone found what I’ve been doing here humorous, helpful and/or inspiring.  Talk about an ego boost!  I think this is a great encouragement for any blogger out there.
