My kids always seem to roll their eyes at me when I tell them that they need to eat their breakfast each morning because it’s the most important meal of the day. They think I’m just saying that to get them to eat their food, but it isn’t some old adage, it really is true!
Many nutritional experts, not just moms and dads, agree that eating a balanced breakfast provides children with the energy and nutrients they need for increased concentration in the classroom and to help prevent mid-morning slump. Studies have also shown that eating breakfast is an important step in maintaining a healthy body weight.
However, like parents most everywhere, I know that during a busy morning it is sooo easy to let breakfast fall low on your list of priorities. But taking as little as 10-15 minutes each morning to have something to eat can really make a difference in your child’s day and even your own!
To show my kids how important it is to eat something in the morning before starting their day, I decided to treat them to the “Ultimate Breakfast Bar,” filled with some of their favorite foods!
