While on vacation at the Jersey Shore last week, we had our own sort of afternoon “tea time” out on our condo’s balcony – except for this mama it was a glass of boxed wine (I love Bota Box!), while my daughter drank her boxed apple juice….
Only 18 more years sweetie and we can clink glasses together. Until then a little girl can dream, can’t she?
This weekend we celebrated my son’s 5th birthday with his friends and it was a real blast from the past!
No offense to places such as Chuck E Cheese, Bounce U or Screaming Parties, but I always like to something a little different from the parties we go to. We held his party at a great place I found called Tie Dye Town.
My son getting his tie-dye party on!
While I was getting my 2 1/2-year-old daughter dressed for nursery school yesterday morning, she announced that she was a Super Hero. She then proceeded to march down the hall to the bathroom stark naked except for a pair of pink sunglasses and sat on the toilet. After bursting out in laughter, I managed to ask her what kind of Super Hero she was. Without skipping a beat, she told me Rockstar Super Hero. Clearly, the teenage years with her are going to be interesting!
Memorial Day Weekend was filled with family, friends, BBQs and of course parades. In fact, my kidlets love parades so much that we went to two of them! We forgot to bring the camera for our own town parade, but here’s parade #2 of the weekend in a nearby town:
My lil’ patriot, waving her American flag so proudly waiting for the parade to start. Continue reading
We had lots of fun on our trip this past week to Houston, TX to visit with family and go to the Houston Rodeo & Livestock Show (check back for that post – we had so much fun!). As you can see, the kidlets made fast friends with Aunt B & Uncle T’s four doggies…with my son learning a new way to leave the house….
Either my son is taking an alternative exit to the backyard or re-enacting a scene from “Close Encounters of the Third Kind?
Check out my fashionsita of a daughter, looking stylish in her Hello Kitty fedora and son playing with two of their new pals Bikki (the Basset Hound) and Lil’ Bit
This Wordless Wednesday features our family outing this past weekend to a local children’s museum, Imagine That!!! located in Florham Park, New Jersey. These are great places where kids can run around, experience and actually touch different things. At this museum there were so many great interactive exhibits including an art/paint area, music, dance, puppets, archeology, TV studio, vet office and post office, among others. It is sort of like a HUGE indoor playground and was a great way for the kidlets to burn off some energy. They are so much fun, so much so that I get right on in there with my kidlets and play with them, making me a kid again, at least for a little while.
Both of my kidlets LOVE music and enjoy playing with instruments. The two of them were fighting over who would bang the drum first, as you can see, my daughter won!
I told my son this is the closest he’ll ever come to riding a motorcycle in my lifetime!
My son is one of my knights in shining armor (the Hubs is the other!)
My daughter kept getting into this brick-red, vintage WV Beetle, here she’s telling mom not to be a backseat driver!
If you looked in our recycling bin this week, you might question what household staple we go through faster, peanut butter for the kidlets or wine for the adults.
On this day when I bundled my kidlets and myself up to go out, I suddenly craved summer and the Jersey Shore. This is a typical site “down the shore” – storefronts where you can get all sorts of crazy decals pressed onto your summer shirts! Here’s what Wildwood, NJ had to offer this past summer. Only 147 til the official start of summer….
This is how I start every morning at work, I read/look thru all these papers and then go onto the Internet to check out a bunch of additional news sites. I look at it this way, at least I’m still reading an actual print newspaper. So by 10 am each morning, I’m in total information overload! At least I’m well-read and up to date on the world. Geez, I can’t wait for Star & Us Magazine to get here this afternoon….
UPDATE 12:51 PM
My magazines have arrived….now I can erase all the usefull stuff I read this morning with this stuff!
I guess I should have asked for a Roomba to help me with the housework instead of borrowing my son’s “Cars 2″ Zen Master. He works diligently, but at his size and speed, my carpet may never get cleaned!
