Bubbles. There are songs, websites and even Pinterest pages devoted to them. Bubbles make me happy, whether they are in the wine or floating above my head. My kidlets love bubbles too. They can go through a huge bottle in one afternoon waving around their bubble wands, or should I say weapons since the kidlets always wind up smacking them into each other in their bubble blowing frenzy!
With the weather finally getting warmer, we were able to have some backyard bubble fun this past weekend. The kidlets had lots of fun and giggles trying out their new Little Tikes Boubly Hippo Bubble Bellies II bubble machine.
Our Bubble Bellies toy required two “AA” batteries (not included) and came with one eight oz. bottle of bubble solution. I like that our hippo has a clear belly so we can actually see how much bubble solution was left when we were playing. Inside the hippo’s mouth is an “easy fill” spout with a soft plug to help prevent spills. That looked a bit awkward to me, so I used a plastic funnel to pour the bubble solution in. It kept the bubble mix in the hippo and off my hands!
Before our bubble fun could start, we had to prime our Bubble Bellies a bit. My son held the trigger on the handle for 30 seconds to get the solution flowing and then tilting it back and forth and finally pumping the handle a few times and then the bubbles just flew out.
The kids took turns running around with Boubly Hippo and had lots of fun, see for yourself:
The Little Tikes Bubble Bellies II come in four different characters, Boubly the Hippo, Pawzee the Dog, Mitts the Dog and Manley the Lion and retail between $12 – 15 and area available at places including Amazon and Toys R Us.
Now it’s your turn to share. What kinds of toys do your kids like to play with when they are outside?
