We’re Having A Party….The Party Works Review

My kids birthdays are a huge deal. To me, there is no greater joy than seeing the excitement, happiness and love in my kidlets eyes when their big day comes and we’re celebrating! But as most parents know, sometimes planning your child’s birthday party can take over your entire life. We just had my son’s 5th birthday party over the weekend and it was a huge success! Although I look forward to all the planning for a fun and happy event, I always get stressed making sure every detail is ready for the big day.

My son’s Star Wars themed party included this cake, with all the main characters showing up for the festivities!

Whether you are a full-time working mom like me or a SAHM with more than one child, getting out and running errands to get all the supplies you need for a party can be pretty difficult. That’s why I love the convenience of shopping online. So I was thrilled to discover The Party Works, an online party supply warehouse. For time-strapped parents like me, it was literally one-stop shopping for all my party needs.

The Party Works offers everything you can think of not only for birthday parties, but also baby showers, favors and even costumes (I’m starting to think about Halloween already, Jeez!). The website is super easy to navigate and you can search party packs by age, gender, theme or event type. In just a couple of clicks you can have your whole party put together with no stress.

I also liked The Party Works because they have more party themes than any other place I’ve ever seen. They have party packs ranging from traditional characters like princesses, super heroes, Phineas & Ferb, Hello Kitty and sports teams to more off-beat and harder to find themes such as John Deere trucks, Tom & Jerry, 70s disco, circus and bowling ones.

For my son’s party, he picked out his own theme which was his newest obsession LEGO® Star Wars. We got two LEGO Star Wars Standard Packs for 8.

Everything arrives neatly in the box.                         All my party supplies laid out.

Here’s what the party pack included:

16 party invitations
16 dinner plates
16 dessert plates
16 cups
32 napkins
32 pieces of plastic utensils (16 of each forks and spoons)
2 solid-colored table covers (silver)
2 Mylar or foil balloons (featured Darth Vader)
4 curling ribbons in two colors (black & red)
4 rolls of crepe paper in two colors (black & red again!)
2 boxes of cake candles (one color, with 16 count in each)

All that translated into this at the party:

Doesn’t it look great?!

The products themselves are high-quality, with sturdy plates and plastic utensils that are not flimsy. I would never have thought of blowing up my own balloons, but you can buy an inexpensive helium tank and it took no time at all. The best part, it didn’t break the bank at all. The prices were reasonable and vary only slightly depending upon your theme, but the party 8 pack was $28.79 and the 16 pack is $48.69. Also, they offer free shipping over $30 and because I placed my order before 12:30 pm PST, my order was sent out the same day – arriving at my doorstep just a few days there after.

I will definitely be checking out The Party Works again when planning my daughter’s party in October! I wonder what party theme she’ll pick!

Now it’s your turn to share. What was your favorite birthday party ever, either for you or your kids?

For full disclosure. I received one LEGO Star Wars Standard Packs for 8 gratis from The Party Works to try and review their product and service. I purchased one more party pack for my son’s birthday party. As always though, all the opinions expressed in this posts and on my blog are my very own.

Looks great! I have to admit to being a bit lazy about kiddie parties, but I really like seeing it all set up before the party. I’ve always gone for the buffet-style, but I think I’ll do the set-up next time. Thanks for mentioning the sturdiness of the supplies. No one likes cake on the ground from flimsy plates.
