What Do You Know? March is Frozen Food Month & Other Random Facts – #FrozenKidfresh Blu-ray Rebate & Giveaway

As I mom, I’m find that I am an incredible font of knowledge for my friends and family. Now by knowledge I don’t mean that I can correctly identify all the elements listed on the periodic table, recite chapter and verse from any of Shakespeare’s plays or solve a complicated (heck even an easy for that matter) algorithm.

The kind of knowledge I’m talking about is more likely to help you on trivia night at a local bar than on a SAT test. I don’t know how, but somewhere along the way I’ve picked up such useful – and totally random – facts as:

  • A sneeze travels out your mouth at over 100 MPH
  • There are 18 different animal shapes in the Animal Crackers cookie zoo
  • Months that begin on a Sunday always have a Friday the 13th in them
  • The names of Popeye’s four identical nephews are Pipeye, Peepeye, Pupeye & Poopeye
  • In the case of an emergency, a Crayola crayon can be used as a candle and it will burn for 15 minutes
  • You share your birthday with at least 19 million other people in the world

I recently learned a new fact, that March is Frozen Food Month.  A whole month dedicated to frozen food,  who knew!   Do you want to know one more tidbit?  To celebrate Frozen Food Month, Kidfresh, the frozen kid’s meal brand, is collaborating with Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment for the release of Disney’s Frozen Blu-ray Combo Pack on March 18.

THM_#FrozenKidfresh_1Families can save up to $6.00 during this exclusive promotion. Through the purchase of any two Kidfresh meals and the Frozen Blu-ray Combo Pack, parents can save $5.00 by mail-in rebate.* In addition, an extra $1.00 off coupon for any two Kidfresh meals will be available at point of purchase in more than 2,200 participating retailers, including Stop & Shop, Giant, Kroger, HEB, ShopRite, A&P, Pathmark and Harris Teeter.  Disney’s Frozen Blu-ray Combo Pack will be available for purchase in all major retailers nationwide including Best Buy, Walmart, Target and Kmart.

Now, if you don’t know about Kidfresh, they are an all-natural brand of frozen kids’ meals that contain no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. What their meals are filled with though are hidden vegetables (about a ½ cup of pureed veggies in each meal), whole grains and are rich in essential nutrients for growing kids including as protein, calcium, fiber and iron.

They’re a lifesaver when I need to make my kidlets dinner in a hurry – say like after a crazy day of running around between school, errands, work, activities and playdates!  Instead of visiting our local drive-thru, I just open up my freezer and pull out a Kidfresh box. In less than three minutes I have a yummy and healthy meal for my kidlets that is low in calories, sodium and fat.

These meals are also great to have for a kid’s dinner & movie night.  We are grateful to Kidfresh for not only sending us a box full of their fab meals but an advanced copy of Disney’s Frozen Blu-ray Combo Pack so we could have one with our kidlets!

My kidlets had seen Frozen in the theater with their dad a few months back, giving this harried mom a much-needed afternoon to herself, so this movie was totally new to me.  I loved it and was totally wowed by the animation.  The scene where Elsa builds her ice castle in the mountains and transforms into a snow queen was simply stunning.

The movie was the topic of conversation at dinner which followed right after (so technically we were movie & dinner night!) where my son ate Kidfresh Muy Cheesy Quesadillas while my daughter chose the Wagon Wheels Mac & Cheese because she thought the wheels looked a bit like snowflakes!  We talked about how funny Olaf was, how the love of family and between siblings is so important and we also sang the lyrics to “Let It Go!”

To make your dinner & movie night complete, you should check out the Kidfresh website and download some of their free Disney Frozen activity sheets which include a coloring page and various puzzles.

For more information follow @KidfreshFoods on Facebook (if you “Like” them you can get a $1 off coupon!, more savings for your Blu-ray purchase!),  TwitterPinterest and Instagram.

We have actually never seen Frozen! My boys are 2 and 4. The two year old could never go to the movies and I like to stick to G rated movies for them at this point. But I know alot of people with kids the same age like it.

I hate to admit it but I haven’t actually seen Frozen yet!! My kids have seen it (they went with grandma) and absolutely love it. I will have to watch asap because it seems to be all that anyone is talking about.

What some folk don’t realize is that frozen foods have come a long way. Nowadays, most are flash frozen which retains the fresh taste. I’m glad it’s frozen foods month and maybe people will try it again.
